Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai attended the grand Sohrai Karma Mahotsav 2025 organized by the All India Rautia Samaj Vikas Parishad, Chhattisgarh Provincial Branch, in village Kandora of Jashpur district. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the Chief Minister emphasized cultural unity, community empowerment, and inclusive development.
During the event, Mr. Sai inaugurated the newly constructed Rautia Community Hall in Kunkuri, built at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh, and performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Rautia Bhawan in Gram Panchayat Kandora, which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 50 lakh.
New Grants and Projects to Strengthen Community Infrastructure
Responding to the Rautia community’s longstanding demands, the Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs. 50 lakh for the construction of a Karma Akhara in Kandora village and Rs. 25 lakh for developing an access road to the Rautia Bhawan in Raipur.
Mr. Sai also paid floral tributes to community martyrs Bakhtar Sai and Mundal Singh, saluting their courage and sacrifice for social harmony and justice.
Emphasis on Cultural Heritage and Social Unity
In his address, the Chief Minister said that the Karma Mahotsav symbolizes India’s glorious cultural heritage, which connects people to their roots and nature. He added, “Festivals like Ekadashi Karma and Dussehra Karma unite society, reinforcing values of respect, devotion, and community spirit.”
Mr. Sai participated in the traditional Karma rituals at Ama Bagh, where he offered prayers at the sacred Karma tree and joined the dancers in celebration, symbolizing unity between governance and grassroots culture. His wife, Mrs. Kaushalya Sai, and other family members also attended the festival.
Government’s Commitment to Inclusive Growth and Development
Highlighting the government’s focus on implementing Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s guarantees, the Chief Minister announced that 1.8 million houses have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the very first cabinet meeting of his government.
Under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, women across the state are being provided with a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 to promote economic independence. Additionally, to uplift tendu leaf collectors, the state government has increased the rate per standard sack to Rs. 5,500.
Mr. Sai reaffirmed his government’s vision of developing Chhattisgarh into a fully developed state by 2047, aligning it with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Focus on Healthcare, Education, and Employment
Mr. Sai announced that a Medical College, Government Nursing College, Naturopathy and Physiotherapy Centre, and Government Physiotherapy College will soon be established in Jashpur district. These projects aim to strengthen healthcare facilities while creating local employment opportunities for the youth.
He also reiterated his government’s determination to completely eradicate Naxalism. “Just two days ago, 210 Naxalites surrendered and joined the mainstream,” he said, highlighting growing public confidence in peace and governance.
Celebration of Tradition and Diversity
The Sohrai Karma Festival, celebrated by the Rautia community to mark the Govardhan festival, witnessed participation from 52 traditional dance troupes from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal. The festival celebrated the new harvest and paid homage to the state’s deep agricultural and cultural roots.
Colorful folk performances, traditional music, and the rhythmic Karma dance infused the event with vibrant energy and joy, reflecting the cultural richness of tribal India.

Prominent personalities present at the event included Member of Parliament Mr. Radheshyam Rathiya, National President of the All India Rautia Samaj Vikas Parishad Mr. O.P. Sai, National Vice President Mr. Damodar Singh, National General Secretary Mr. Azad Singh, Central Organization Minister Mr. Bhuneshwar Kesar, and Central Women Member Mrs. Uma Devi, among several community leaders and dignitaries.
