Gujarat’s Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel has implemented a proactive strategy of periodic review meetings to assess the progress of 146 high-impact projects shaping the state’s developmental trajectory. These meetings aim to ensure timely completion, maintain quality standards, and align projects with broader national visions, according to an official release by the Chief Minister’s Office.

Fourth Review Meeting Focuses on 27 Key Projects
In a high-level meeting held in Gandhinagar on Wednesday, Mr. Patel reviewed 27 critical projects worth Rs 11,360 crores. Detailed presentations and progress evaluations were conducted for four railway projects, six projects under the Industries and Mines Department, and 15 projects under the Urban Development Department. This marks the fourth review meeting, reflecting a consistent effort to monitor and accelerate project implementation.
Railway Projects Under the Scanner
The Chief Minister examined six railway projects valued at Rs 4,190 crores. These include:
- Quadrupling of the Samakhiali-Gandhidham railway line
- Doubling of the 122 km Rajkot-Kanalus line
- Construction of a new broad-gauge line between Naliya and Vayor
- Gauge conversion of Moti Adraj-Vijapur and Vijapur-Ambaliyasan lines
- New Naliya-Jakhau railway line
The review was conducted in the presence of senior railway officials, with a focus on addressing land-related issues and ensuring project timelines are strictly adhered to.
Industries and Mines Projects Driving Economic Growth
Six projects under the Industries and Mines Department, totaling Rs 3,657.62 crores, were also reviewed. Key initiatives include:
- Development of Dholera Greenfield Airport Phase-1
- 65 MLD water supply scheme in Navsari’s PM Mitra Park
- Bulk Drug Park development
- Construction of the Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal at Rafaleshwar, Morbi
- 90 MLD deep-sea effluent disposal pipeline at Sayakha, Bharuch
Mr. Patel emphasized timely completion of the deep-sea effluent disposal pipeline. CEO of Dholera SIR, Mr. Kuldeep Arya, reported substantial progress on the Greenfield Airport, with GETCO issuing work orders for the 66 KV substation and irrigation components.
Urban Development Projects Shaping Smart Cities
The progress of 15 Urban Development projects was reviewed, including:
- 14 MW Waste-to-Energy Plant in Ahmedabad under the Smart City Mission
- Phases 1 to 5 of the Kharicut Canal development
- Gandhi Ashram development project
- Slum rehabilitation project in Vadaj under the PPP model
- Four-lane flyovers at Jamnagar-Lalpur Bypass Junction and BRTS crossing in Surat
- Ongoing Underground Drainage Project in Junagadh
Principal Secretary of Urban Development, Mr. Thennarasan, provided detailed updates, ensuring projects are progressing as per schedule.
Commitment to Holistic Development Aligned with National Vision
Mr. Patel reiterated that all high-impact projects should be completed within stipulated timelines without compromising on quality. He emphasized that these initiatives will advance integrated development in line with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. District Collectors have been instructed to expedite land-related clearances for railway projects to ensure smooth execution.

The review meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Mr. MK Das, Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr. Hasmukh Adhia, Advisor Mr. SS Rathore, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Ms. Avantika Singh, Secretary to the CM Mr. Vikrant Pandey, Additional Chief Secretaries of relevant departments, DRMs, senior railway officials, and Principal Secretaries, showcasing a coordinated governance approach.
