Bhopal/Seoni: In a landmark program in Seoni district, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav transferred ₹1,500 each into the accounts of 12.6 million Ladli sisters, totaling ₹1,857 crore, under the Ladli Behna Yojana. The event also witnessed the inauguration and groundbreaking of 114 development projects worth ₹560.75 crore, alongside the unveiling of the world’s largest tiger sculpture at the Pench Tiger Reserve.
Empowering Women and Tribals
CM Dr. Yadav emphasized that women are central to Madhya Pradesh’s governance. He highlighted the government’s commitment to increasing the amount gradually and stated plans to provide ₹5,000 per month to Ladli sisters through employment-based schemes in the future.
The Chief Minister also announced the inclusion of Rani Durgavati’s biography in school curricula, alongside efforts to honor tribal leaders like Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He reaffirmed that the government is working to ensure 33% political reservation for women by 2028.

Major Infrastructure and Welfare Initiatives
- Sports Stadium: To be constructed in Ghansor for youth development.
- Bridge Construction: Planned between Lamta and Ghasara.
- Urban and Rural Development: 114 projects worth ₹560.75 crore inaugurated.
- Women Empowerment: Over 5.3 million women associated with 500,000 self-help groups benefiting from state schemes.
- Agriculture and Farmer Welfare: Funds to soybean farmers via Bhavantar Yojana, bonus on paddy, and wheat procurement for fair prices.
- Public Utilities: Scheme to waive electricity bill surcharges starting December 30.
CM Highlights Cultural and National Values
During the event, CM Dr. Yadav condemned Congress members for past actions against Vande Mataram and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to national and cultural pride. He stated that the Ladli sisters’ empowerment strengthens the nation, invoking historical leaders like Lord Krishna, Emperor Vikramaditya, Rani Lakshmi Bai, and tribal queens.

Several Ladli sisters shared their experiences:
- Sushma Shanodia: Gained self-reliance and financial stability.
- Anjali Varmaiya: Using the funds to save and start a business.
- Anju Soni: Purchased a sewing machine, helping household chores and income generation.
- Chayankali Dahriya: Paying her children’s fees from the scheme’s funds.
CM Dr. Yadav encouraged women to speak openly and fearlessly, stating, “This is your brother’s government.” He also addressed misconceptions regarding fund misuse, affirming that the money strengthens women’s economic independence.
