The ninth edition of the Ayodhya Deepotsav is not just a cultural spectacle but a visionary step in inclusive governance. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath has announced a unique initiative that goes beyond ceremonial lighting of lamps—he will personally celebrate Diwali with families in Nishad colonies and slum settlements the day after the main event, ensuring every home in Ayodhya glows with dignity and joy.
This move aligns with the government’s push towards holistic development, social integration, and cultural unity.
Chief Minister to Begin Celebrations with Temple Rituals
On the day of Deepotsav, Mr. Adityanath will commence festivities with a spiritual note, visiting the historic Hanumangarhi temple to offer prayers to Lord Hanuman. This will be followed by a special puja at the Ram Lalla shrine, invoking blessings for peace, prosperity, and collective well-being for the people of Uttar Pradesh.
These sacred rituals reflect the spiritual essence of Ayodhya while reinforcing the cultural heritage of the region.
Engaging Saints and Honouring Kar Sevaks
As part of the Deepotsav itinerary, Mr. Yogi Adityanath will also meet prominent saints, mahants, and religious leaders, reaffirming the deep bond between spiritual leadership and state governance. In a heartfelt gesture, he will also interact with Kar Sevaks, recognising their unwavering devotion and contributions to the Ram Janmbhoomi movement.
Lighting Lamps in Nishad Colony: A Powerful Message of Equality
In a first-of-its-kind event, the Chief Minister will visit Abhiram Das Nagar (Nishad Colony, Ward No. 1), where he will celebrate Diwali with nearly 400 local families. During his visit, he will light diyas with the community, distribute sweets and trophies to children, and personally greet senior citizens.
This direct outreach represents governance with empathy, and reflects the philosophy that Ayodhya’s development must be both spiritual and socially inclusive.
Diwali in Devkali Slum: Reaching the Margins with Light and Love
Taking inclusivity a step further, Mr. Adityanath will celebrate Diwali with children and families in the Devkali slum area. He will light lamps alongside them and participate in local celebrations, showcasing his administration’s resolve to bring government closer to the people, especially the most marginalized.
This symbolic gesture turns Deepotsav into a people’s festival, bridging the gap between authority and citizenry.
District Administration in Action: Cleanliness, Safety, and Illumination Ensured
District Magistrate Mr. Nikhil Tikaram Funde confirmed that full preparations are in place. From security arrangements and road repairs to decoration and illumination, every detail has been planned for the Chief Minister’s outreach. Municipal workers, sanitation teams, and the electricity department are all working in coordination to ensure a smooth, beautiful, and safe celebration for everyone.
Deepotsav as a Model of Inclusive Festivity
Officials emphasized that this year’s Deepotsav truly represents the “Ram Rajya” vision—one where no community is left behind. Under Mr. Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, the festival expands beyond the ceremonial into the developmental, touching hearts and homes that are often overlooked.
By celebrating Diwali with the poor and underprivileged, the Chief Minister is redefining public leadership in India’s festival narrative—creating not just moments of joy, but memories of dignity and inclusion.
