The Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled the Rojgar Mahakumbh 2025, a large-scale initiative aimed at boosting youth employment across the state. In collaboration with leading companies, the state is preparing to host mega job fairs across several districts, including Kashi, as part of its broader developmental agenda.
Skill Development Mission Leads the Employment Push
The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission will play a central role by training youth and connecting them directly with employment opportunities. Mega job fairs are scheduled in major districts such as Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, and the capital Lucknow. With a target of providing jobs to 15,000 young individuals, the mission aims to strengthen both skill-building and job placement.
Progress Under DDU-GKY Highlights Growing Impact
A crucial meeting held at the Skill Development Mission headquarters reviewed advancements under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY). According to the latest report, approximately 2.59 lakh youth have been trained, 2.33 lakh evaluated, and 1.52 lakh successfully employed. Applications for the new DDU 2.0 phase continue to arrive, with the selection process progressing rapidly.
India Skills Competition Set to Boost Talent Development
Minister of State for Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Kapil Dev Agarwal, instructed officials to ensure maximum participation in the upcoming job fairs. He emphasized quality training, instructor availability, and strong industry linkages. Divisional-level India Skills Competitions will be held from December 1 to 10, followed by state-level competitions from December 20 to January 20. Principal Secretary Dr. Hariom, Special Secretary Mr. Abhishek Singh, and Mission Director Mr. Pulkit Khare were also present at the meeting.
Top Institutes Become Knowledge Partners
To further enhance training standards, the Skill Development Mission has appointed the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and the Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur as knowledge partners. Additionally, efforts are underway to include the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow and other premier institutions. These collaborations will support curriculum development, assessment strengthening, and improved coordination with industries.
