Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath announced a sweeping agenda to generate large-scale jobs and strengthen the state’s security, economic stability, and investment environment. Speaking at the 36th Foundation Day of the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), he highlighted that Uttar Pradesh has now become a model of law and order, a magnet for industries, and a state of limitless potential.
Zero-Tolerance Policy Creating a New Uttar Pradesh
Mr. Yogi Adityanath emphasized that Uttar Pradesh’s zero-tolerance stance against crime, mafia networks, extortion, and corruption has transformed the state’s image. Curfews, riots, and fear-driven environments have been replaced by peace, stability, and celebration, creating an ideal environment for investors and industries.
GIDA Foundation Day Marks Major Development Announcements
At GIDA, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 114 development projects worth Rs. 408 crore. He handed allotment certificates to five investors from the newly allocated 115 industrial plots and distributed certificates to youth trained under skill development programs at NIELIT. The event also saw the inauguration of a three-day UP State Trade Show.
Boost to Industrial Infrastructure Across Districts
During the ceremony, Mr. Yogi also laid the foundation stone for a flattened factory in Lucknow costing Rs. 34 crore and an ODOP Packaging CFC worth Rs. 3.91 crore in Gorakhpur. Incentives and loan assistance were distributed to entrepreneurs, reinforcing the government’s commitment to grassroots economic empowerment.
Farmers, Landowners, and the Poor Receive Assured Protection
The Chief Minister assured that farmers and the poor will not face injustice or displacement during development work. Fair compensation, consultation, and rehabilitation remain top priorities. This approach, he stated, helped Uttar Pradesh build some of the country’s best infrastructure while maintaining social harmony.
GIDA’s Past Challenges and Present Revival
Reflecting on GIDA’s troubled history between 1989 and 1998—when protests, violence, and political neglect halted industrial growth—Mr. Yogi highlighted the remarkable turnaround in the last eight years. From a stagnant authority, GIDA has been transformed into a thriving industrial hub.
Record-Breaking Investment Pipeline for December
Under the “double-engine government,” Uttar Pradesh has received investment proposals worth Rs. 45 lakh crore, of which Rs. 15 lakh crore have already been implemented. The Chief Minister announced that projects worth Rs. 5 lakh crore will be grounded this December alone, generating massive employment opportunities for youth across the state.
UP Emerges as India’s Fastest-Growing Economy
Mr. Yogi affirmed that Uttar Pradesh is no longer a lagging state but a powerhouse of opportunity. With the largest rail network, the country’s first rapid train, top metro networks, and 16 operational airports—including four international airports—the state is rapidly becoming an infrastructure leader. The upcoming Jewar Airport, set to be inaugurated soon, will be India’s largest.
Investment and Jobs Surge Across Sectors
The implemented investment proposals have directly created 1.5 crore jobs statewide. In GIDA alone, nearly 40,000 youth have found employment. Improved law and order, robust connectivity, and sector-specific policies have made eastern Uttar Pradesh a preferred destination for global and national enterprises.
Major Industries Powering GIDA’s Industrial Boom
Top companies such as PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, CAMPA, India Auto Wheels, Kyan Industries, Ankur Industries, and CP Milk & Foods are investing in the region. Reliance Group is set to establish a Campa unit in Dhuriyapur. Nearly 500 industrial units have become operational in GIDA over the past eight years, generating employment for thousands.
Developing an Industrial Corridor with New Opportunities
A new industrial corridor from GIDA to Dhuriyapur is under development, set to include major units like Ambuja Cement and Shreyas Distillery. A plastic park, flattened factory, and large-scale skill development facilities are also underway to benefit youth.
Gita Press Receives Land Allocation
The Chief Minister presented a land allotment certificate for 10 acres in GIDA to the iconic Gita Press, strengthening the region’s cultural and industrial ecosystem. He expressed confidence that GIDA will soon become a major employment center for eastern UP.
