Milam Set for Transformation: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Boosts ITBP Morale and Tourism Plans

Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the high Himalayan region of Milam in Munsyari, where he met and encouraged ITBP soldiers stationed along the China border. Praising their dedication, Mr. Dhami said that the country’s soldiers are giving a tough time to enemies, a matter of pride for every citizen. This marks the first-ever visit of a Uttarakhand Chief Minister to Milam.

Tourism Development Inspired by PM Modi’s Visit

Mr. Dhami highlighted that following Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s visit to the Adi Kailash region, the area has gained global recognition as a tourist destination. Taking inspiration, the Chief Minister announced plans to develop Milam into a tourist hub focusing on adventure tourism, trekking, and cultural heritage. This initiative is expected to boost local tourism and create new employment opportunities in Munsyari and surrounding areas.

Infrastructure and Community Development Initiatives

During the visit, Mr. Dhami announced the beautification of the Nanda Devi temple in Milam and the construction of a community hall in Bilju. These projects aim to strengthen cultural tourism and support community engagement while enhancing the region’s infrastructure. Village Head Mr. Vinod Nitwal, Mr. Bala Singh Ralamwal, and other local residents warmly welcomed the Chief Minister upon his arrival.

Historic Two-Day Visit to Munsyari

The Chief Minister’s visit to Munsyari spans two days, with a focus on both security and development. On Wednesday morning, he reached Milam in Malla Johar and wore an ITBP uniform to personally motivate the soldiers. Mr. Dhami emphasized that the government is committed to promoting the area’s strategic significance as well as its tourism potential.

Government Vision for Himalayan Tourism and Employment

With plans to promote adventure tourism, trekking, and cultural sites, the Chief Minister reiterated that Milam will gain international recognition similar to Adi Kailash. The initiatives are also expected to create employment opportunities for local youth while enhancing the overall development of the district.
