Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar Expresses Gratitude

Immediately following the announcement, Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar thanked the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Ministry, expressing that the funding would serve as a major catalyst in driving Bihar’s growth and development across key sectors.

Development-Focused Utilization Plan Outlined

Mr. Kumar assured that the funds will be prioritized for impactful areas such as:

  • Education and School Infrastructure
  • Healthcare Services and Facilities
  • Rural Development and Livelihood Schemes
  • Infrastructure Expansion, including Roads and Connectivity

He emphasized that this fund injection will not only stabilize the state’s economy but also fuel long-term inclusive development.

A Vijayadashami Gift for Bihar’s Growth Trajectory

The festive occasion of Vijayadashami, symbolizing victory and new beginnings, has now become a turning point in Bihar’s development journey. The business community, industrialists, and civil society have widely welcomed this move, believing it will spur employment, investments, and rural progress.

Why Tax Devolution Matters

Tax Devolution refers to the process by which the Centre shares its tax revenues with states, thereby empowering them to implement their own welfare and infrastructure programs. This system ensures greater financial autonomy, especially for developing states like Bihar.

Experts believe the timely allocation of Rs. 10,219 crore will enable the Bihar government to fast-track pending projects, improve basic services, and implement social welfare schemes more effectively.

Backed by GST Reforms and Fiscal Empowerment

Bihar has also recently benefited from GST reforms rolled out by the Modi government. Now, with this devolution grant, the state can leverage both tax autonomy and fiscal support to boost its economic indicators.

The CM added that if used strategically, this support will significantly improve Bihar’s growth rate, social indicators, and public satisfaction levels.
