On World Wetlands Day, IAS officer Supriya Sahu utilized the social media platform X to post a captivating video showcasing the beauty of wetlands.
In her post, Ms. Sahu wrote, “If forests are lungs of the planet then Wetlands are its kidneys. Wetlands are climate superheroes too as they store carbon and provide livelihood to millions of people and support precious wildlife. Lets rejuvenate and restore our wetlands.”
She further informed that with 15 new Ramsar sites notifed in the last two years and another one notified earlier, Tamil Nadu stands tall with highest number of Ramsar sites in India.
“We are working to bring more wetlands under protection through the TN wetlands mission,” Ms. Sahu added.
