FIR Reveals Navjot Singh Was Breathing After Accident; Wife’s Pleas Ignored

The FIR paints a disturbing picture of what happened immediately after the crash. According to the complaint, Navjot Singh was conscious and breathing, but despite repeated pleas by his wife Sandeep Kaur, the accused couple driving the BMW refused to take him to the nearest hospital. Instead, they reportedly took Navjot Singh to a smaller hospital located nearly 19 kilometers away.

Sandeep Kaur’s statement in the FIR highlights the critical delay, claiming that if Navjot Singh had received timely medical care, his life might have been saved.

Eyewitness Account: BMW Driver Speeding and Reckless

Eyewitnesses to the accident described the BMW as speeding and losing control before colliding with Navjot Singh’s motorcycle. The impact caused the motorcycle to first hit a road divider and then a bus, severely injuring Navjot and his wife. The FIR also mentions that the BMW driver was negligent and reckless at the time of the accident.

Police Investigation Intensifies; Vehicle Seized and Accused Interrogated

Following the FIR and public outcry, Delhi Police have seized the BMW involved in the accident. Investigations are ongoing, with police collecting CCTV footage from the accident site and recording statements from eyewitnesses and the accused couple. The police are also preparing to interrogate the BMW driver and her husband to determine the full circumstances surrounding the accident and the subsequent delay in treatment.

Family Alleges Deliberate Negligence and Hospital Cover-Up

The family of Navjot Singh has raised serious concerns about the handling of the accident aftermath. It has been alleged that Navjot and his wife were transported to a distant hospital in a cargo van without any initial medical attention. The police are also examining allegations of possible hospital negligence and attempts to cover up details related to the treatment delay.

CSS Forum Demands Justice for Officer’s Death

The Central Secretariat Service Forum (CSS Forum), the official representative body of all Central Secretariat Service officers, has also spoken out. In a post on social media platform X, the forum expressed its grief and demanded urgent action:

“The CSS fraternity mourns the untimely demise of Sh. Navjot Singh, Dy. Secretary, Ministry of Finance. A dedicated officer, his passing is a huge loss to Service & Nation . We call upon Delhi Police to ensure strict & speedy justice.”

The forum’s statement reflects the broader concern and outrage among government officers over the incident.

The investigation is expected to take into account the FIR details, witness statements, and CCTV evidence to establish the exact sequence of events. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges related to negligent driving and failure to provide timely medical aid.
