What is the dispute involving his wife?
According to the account given by Pooja, she and Bhanu Pratap Singh met in 2015 and subsequently married against their families’ wishes. She said she worked as a teacher at a private school in Bharatpur for around five years after their marriage.
Pooja has alleged that their relationship deteriorated after Singh’s selection into the IPS and that the dispute has now extended to the custody of their six-year-old daughter.
She travelled from Bihar to Bharatpur after learning that Singh was staying there with their daughter, according to her account.
She first went to the family’s rented residence in Geeta Colony but alleged that nobody opened the door despite her attempts to gain entry. She subsequently went to her sister-in-law’s residence in Vijay Nagar, where she said she was also not allowed inside.
She then approached the Mathura Gate police station and remained there while seeking police intervention.

The Mathura Gate SHO reportedly spoke to Bhanu Pratap Singh over the phone following Pooja’s visit to the police station. Police indicated that any further action would depend on the legal process and examination of the matter.
The allegations made by Pooja are part of the ongoing family dispute. They should not be treated as established findings against the IPS officer or his family unless established through legal proceedings.
