Bharatpur: A family dispute involving Bihar IPS officer Bhanu Pratap Singh, currently serving as Superintendent of Police in Khagaria, has reached a police station in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, after his wife Pooja approached the Mathura Gate police station seeking help.
According to reports, Pooja alleged that she was unable to meet her six-year-old daughter and that a dispute over the child had intensified between the couple. She also alleged that her husband and his family did not allow her to enter their residence in Bharatpur.
Pooja Approaches Bharatpur Police
Pooja reportedly travelled from Bihar to Bharatpur after learning that Bhanu Pratap Singh was staying there with their daughter. She first went to her in-laws’ rented residence in Geeta Colony, but alleged that the gate was not opened despite her waiting outside for about an hour.

She then reportedly went to the residence of her sister-in-law in Vijay Nagar. According to her account, the door was not opened there either.
She subsequently reached Mathura Gate police station and sought police intervention. Reports said the station officer spoke to Bhanu Pratap Singh over the phone. The matter was treated as a family dispute, after which Pooja remained at the police station until late at night.
Dispute Centres On Six-Year-Old Daughter
The couple’s daughter has become a central point in the dispute. Pooja has alleged that she has been prevented from meeting or speaking to the child.
In separate recent media interactions, she has also alleged mental harassment and said that her primary concern is being able to live peacefully with her family and maintain contact with her daughter. These remain allegations made by Pooja and have not been independently established.
From 2015 Meeting To Marriage
According to Pooja’s account, she met Bhanu Pratap Singh at an event in 2015. Despite opposition from their families, the two married on January 16, 2016.
She reportedly worked as a teacher at a private school in Bharatpur for several years after their marriage, while Bhanu Pratap Singh prepared for the UPSC examination and subsequently joined the Indian Police Service.
The couple’s relationship, which began as a marriage despite family opposition, has now become the subject of a public family dispute.
Bhanu Pratap Singh’s IPS Posting
Bhanu Pratap Singh is a 2021-batch IPS officer of the Bihar cadre. He is currently serving as Khagaria’s Superintendent of Police.
Recent reports about the dispute have also carried Pooja’s allegations concerning separation from her daughter and alleged marital harassment. However, the allegations should be viewed as claims made by the complainant unless established through an official investigation or judicial finding.
