Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav virtually addressed the Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Chhatarpur on Saturday, highlighting government efforts to address farmers’ concerns and provide them with necessary facilities.
Yadav, who was in New Delhi, interacted virtually with progressive farmers and local representatives during the event. The agriculture festival was organised to provide farmers with information on modern farming resources, improved agricultural practices and the latest techniques for the upcoming rabi season.
CM Interacts With Progressive Farmers
During the interaction, farmers from Chhatarpur district shared details of their agricultural practices and innovations.

- Salim Khan, a progressive farmer, spoke about organic and natural farming, holistic farming and the cultivation of medicinal crops. He also shared his efforts to encourage other farmers to adopt natural farming.
- Saurabh Bhatnagar from Bijawar discussed organic and natural farming, fruit and vegetable cultivation, along with poultry, fish and duck farming.
- Habbibai from Salaiya village spoke about cultivating and processing minor millets such as kodo, kutki, ragi, bajra and jowar before selling them in the market.
- Anil Yadav from Hatna village explained that he had established a Custom Hiring Centre and purchased six agricultural machines, including a tractor. He said renting the equipment to other farmers generated a profit of around ₹5.50 lakh during the previous year.
- Tulsa Kushwaha from Lakhan Guwan shared her experience with organic and natural farming, crop and vegetable cultivation, poultry, fish and duck farming.
Yadav also interacted with various public representatives during the programme.
Farmers, Meritorious Students Honoured
Ten progressive farmers from Chhatarpur district were felicitated with certificates during the event. Meritorious children of farmers who featured in the merit list were also honoured.
Forest and Environment Minister of State Dilip Ahirwar, Apex Bank administrator Dr Mahendra Singh Yadav, Cooperative administrator K.P. Singh and Rajnagar MLA Arvind Pateria were among those present at the Chhatarpur programme.
Training on Rabi Crops and Modern Farming
Agricultural scientists and subject experts provided farmers with information on improved varieties of major rabi crops, modern agricultural technologies, crop management and updated farming practices.
The programme also included guidance on the use of modern technology in agriculture and ways to increase farm production and agricultural income.
Stalls Display Seeds, Farm Machinery and Fertiliser Information
Various departments and institutions set up exhibitions and stalls at the Balram Krishi Mahotsav.
Farmers were provided information about:
- New and improved seed varieties
- Modern agricultural machinery
- Fertiliser use and distribution through the e-Vikas system
- Horticulture and animal husbandry-related facilities
- Agricultural engineering technologies
- Agricultural products and equipment available through private vendors
The event was organised specifically for Chhatarpur farmers ahead of the rabi season, with information and demonstrations focused on improved farming practices and agricultural resources.
