Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat, the Commissioner of Police of Telangana’s Rachakonda region, is a master achiever. Not just for himself, he is a decorated police officer with strings of awards and medals, but through his unique endeavour he has helped hundreds of aspiring UPSC students.
Mr. Bhagwat’s achievements may appear startling, but they are true. Every year, over 100 students mentored by him crack the UPSC- considered to be the toughest exam in India. And he has been achieving this mind-boggling result for the last five years!
Mr. Bhagwat imparts his teaching mainly through WhatsApp groups, and doing this is his passion. His specialisation is what he calls `personality profiling’, and among the recent batch of UPSC winners mentored by him include the Miss India finalist Aishwarya Sheoran.
During our exclusive interview with Mr. Bhagwat, we were struck by his simplicity and transparency. And it’s not, therefore, surprising that his teachings too touch upon the attributes which are essentially simple to grasp (but hard to adhere too!), such as playing to our strengths and always have a Plan B ready.
