As Mr. Jatindra Sarma retired from Indian Forest Service as the Field Director of Kaziranga National Park, he left behind a farewell gift that would bring the world heritage site to thousands of homes and allow visitors to relive the memories spent in the wild. This precious gift is a colourful and vibrant coffee table book that literally brings Kaziranga alive.
Another parting gift was the increase in the tourist inflow to the park which saw a significant jump during his tenure. From President Droupadi Murmu to Sadhguru, many VVIPs and celebrities, as also foreign and domestic tourists visited Kaziranga. His tenure also saw poaching and encroachment being tackled with an iron hand, which created resentment among some sections of people.
