1987 batch IPS officer P. Doungel has been appointed as the new DGP, Manipur. Doungel has been ‘allowed’ to hold the charge of Manipur DGP with immediate effect by the Governor.
“The Governor of Manipur is pleased to allow Shri P Doungel, IPS… to also hold charge of Director General of Police, Manipur and Head of Police Force with immediate effect and until further orders in public interest,” an order stated.
Notably, Doungel’s predecessor – LM Khaute – on Friday, took voluntary retirement from the services.
P Doungel is a former Mr India and also the patron of the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA).
