The basic training of the 73rd Regular Recruit of IPS officers came to an end at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA). It concluded with the most awaited Valedictory Parade. The training has started in December 2020 and ended in the first week of October. Prior to this, week-long festivities were held to celebrate the convocation of the 73rd RR.
A total of 123 officer trainees, including 25 lady probationers, participated in the parade, which was commanded by Ms. Darpan Ahluwalia, IPS (P) of Punjab cadre. The Valedictory Parade was inspected by Mr. A.S. Ranjan, who is currently the Director of Police Academy.
BEST PERFORMERS
The splendour and aura of the parade left all spectators mesmerized. Each trainee was proud to be a part of this parade, and everyone performed to their best.
Mr. Robinson Guria, IPS, of Chhattisgarh cadre won the Vandana Malik Trophy for Dedication and Hard work, while George Allen John of West Bengal cadre won Shri Bhubananda Misra Memorial Trophy for the Second Best All- Round Probationer.
Ms. Darpan Ahluwalia of Punjab cadre, who led the Valedictory Parade, won the Prime Minister’s Baton and Home Ministry’s Revolver for the Best All-Round IPS Probationer and the 1973-Batch IPS Officers Trophy for the Best All Round Lady IPS Probationer. She also won the Vice President of India’s Trophy for Exemplary Conduct.
