Known as the ‘Iron Lady of Assam’, IPS officer Dr. Sanjukta Parashar has been promoted to Inspector General Rank. An IPS officer 2006 batch, Dr. Parashar was the first Assamese lady IPS officer posted in Assam. Currently, she is serving as DIG, National Investigation Agency in New Delhi. She has been given a proforma promotion.
Born and brought up in Assam, Dr. Parashar completed her graduation from Delhi University followed by a Master’s in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She then went on to do her M.Phil. and Ph.D. from JNU.
