The letters were addressed to all states except all union territories, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, requesting them to forward “sufficient nominations” at the ranks of Superintendent of Police (SP) to the Inspector General (IG) to strengthen the central agencies.
