Manoj Bharti, a distinguished former diplomat and 1988 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, has recently been appointed as the Executive President of the Jan Suraj Party, founded by Prashant Kishor. This appointment highlights Bharti’s dedication and skills, which are crucial to the party’s mission.

Hailing from the Madhubani district of Bihar and belonging to the Dalit community, Bharti boasts an impressive academic and professional background.

He graduated from the prestigious Netarhat School in Ranchi and earned his engineering degree from IIT Kanpur.

After joining the IFS in 1988, he served as India’s ambassador in Indonesia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Timor Leste, and held various diplomatic roles in countries such as Myanmar, Turkey, Nepal, the Netherlands, and Iran.

In addition to his diplomatic career, Bharti holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Taras Shevchenko National University in Ukraine. He is also an accomplished author and a polyglot, fluent in several languages including Hindi, English, Persian, Russian, and others.

Prashant Kishor emphasized Bharti’s selection for the Executive President role due to his commitment and competence, particularly highlighting his roots in the Dalit community as a representation of the party’s inclusive vision.

In his inaugural address, Bharti outlined a bold vision for Bihar, focusing on transforming the state’s challenges, such as the annual floods in North Bihar, into opportunities. He proposed innovative strategies to make rivers allies rather than adversaries.

Furthermore, Bharti envisions a future where historical institutions like Nalanda and Vikramshila universities regain their status as centers of knowledge. He passionately stated, “Wherever I went, Bihar went with me,” and pledged to work tirelessly until Bihar ranks among the top ten states in India.

The launch of Jan Suraj under Manoj Bharti’s leadership marks a new chapter for Bihar, emphasizing reform, resilience, and a renewed commitment to education and empowerment.
