A team of 10 IAS officers has arrived in East Godavari district for a seven-day field study and research program aimed at addressing grassroots challenges and strengthening local governance. District Collector P Prasanthi welcomed the officers at her office on Monday, where they discussed the schedule and objectives for their visit. District Revenue Officer (DRO) Sriramachandra Murthy and District Nodal Officer NVVS Murthy were also present.

The IAS team will engage in various community development activities, starting with visits to municipal schools to collaborate with staff on local development plans and promote health and sanitation awareness. By the third day, the officers will focus on slum development, citizen services, poverty alleviation, and livelihood programs, as well as solid waste management practices.

Their itinerary includes visits to schools, Anganwadi centers, Primary Health Centers, and Panchayat offices to gain firsthand insights into village-level operations and community needs. The visiting officers, who include Mannan Singh, Anurag Babel, Priya Rani, Shaheeda Begum, Parth, Kashish Bhakshi, Snehapann, Jadhav Rao Niranjan Mahendra Singh, Tushar Negi, and Atul Mishra, represent a wide range of expertise and are dedicated to understanding the district’s unique challenges.

On Sunday night, the team visited the Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation office, where Municipal Commissioner Ketan Garg briefed them on the corporation’s various programs. The group then attended a presentation led by department heads, detailing ongoing initiatives in health, sanitation, urban planning, and revenue services. Senior officials, including Deputy Commissioner S Venkata Ramana, Superintendent Engineer G Panduranga Rao, Health Officer Dr. Vinutha, and other department heads, participated in the interactive session.

This field study is part of the officers’ training and will provide valuable insights for implementing effective governance strategies at the local level.
