Indian Masterminds Stories

Krupa Jain’s journey from her humble beginnings in Hosapete to securing multiple top ranks in some of India’s toughest competitive exams is nothing short of inspirational. With a 10 CGPA in Class X, a stellar 97.8% in her intermediate, and a remarkable 9.63 CGPA in her B.E. in Computer Science Engineering from RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, Krupa has consistently proven her academic mettle.

After gaining valuable work experience at tech giants like CISCO and Microsoft, Krupa shifted her focus to one of the most challenging career paths in India—civil services. She first made headlines with her selection in the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) through the UPSC CSE 2022. But her ambition didn’t stop there. In 2023, she achieved an impressive AIR-440 in the UPSC CSE and an extraordinary AIR-18 in the Indian Forest Service (IFS).

In an interview with Indian Masterminds, she shared her meticulous strategy that helped her succeed in these exams and her ongoing preparation for the IAS. She emphasized the importance of balancing preparation for both the Mains and Prelims exams simultaneously, ensuring an even distribution of time and effort across all subjects. Krupa advised aspirants to focus on a single comprehensive book for each subject but also to seek out additional materials that could enrich their answers.

DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED

Krupa highlighted that no subject should be taken for granted, and while current affairs are crucial, she cautioned against spending excessive hours reading newspapers. She believes that developing essay writing skills is vital for securing good marks and achieving a high rank. According to her, time management during the Mains exam is critical due to the limited time available, and with only days left for the Mains, the approach should be focused and intensive, revising key areas.

Her advice to aspirants is clear: Don’t give even a minute extra for any answer, as it can cost you dearly. She also stressed the importance of daily answer writing practice, which she considers non-negotiable for success.

Krupa Jain’s journey is a testament to the power of determination, strategic preparation, and continuous self-improvement. As she now sets her sights on the IAS, her story will undoubtedly inspire many aspirants to follow in her footsteps.
