Who scored What: Last five years’ CSE Toppers with their Marks

Shubham Kumar topped UPSC CSE this year with 1054 marks. Last year’s topper Pradeep Singh had scored 1072 marks. Presenting a comparison of marks scored by each topper of the last 5 years.

The UPSC CSE 2020 results were recently announced, and out of the thousands who appeared for the exam, only 761 were able to make it to the list of successful candidates. A few days ago, UPSC also released the mark sheets, thus enabling the candidates to know their marks and analyze them.

Topper Shubham Kumar with AIR 1 scored 1054 marks (52.04%). On the other hand, AIR 2 Jagrati Awasthi missed the top position by just two marks and landed on the second position with 1052 marks (51.95%).

Here are the CSE toppers of the last five years with their scores, starting off with 2020 star, Subham Kumar.

2016 Topper Nandini KR

2020: SHUBHAM KUMAR

Hailing from the Katihar district of Bihar, Shubham Kumar did his B.Tech in civil engineering from IIT Bombay. He had previously made two attempts to clear UPSC and had scored AIR 290 in CSE 2019. Having earlier worked as a researcher in the USA, Shubham went on to top UPSC 2020 with a score of 1054, with 878 in the written exam and 176 in the interview round.

2019: PRADEEP SINGH

Hailing from Sonipat, Haryana, Pradeep did computer science engineering from Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram University in Murthal. The son of a farmer, Pradeep had made three attempts to crack UPSC before he was finally able to clear it. He topped UPSC 2019 with a score of 1072 marks, with 914 in the written exam and 158 in the interview round.

2018: KANISHKA KATARIA

Hailing from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Kanishka belongs to the Scheduled Caste category and did his B.Tech in computer science and engineering from IIT Bombay. He chose Mathematics as his optional subject in UPSC 2018 and topped the exam with a score of 1121, with 942 in the written test and 179 in the interview round.

2017: DURSIHETTY ANUDEEP

Hailing from Telangana, Durishetty is a B.Tech graduate from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. Before cracking UPSC, he worked as a software engineer with Google India. He topped UPSC 2017 in his fifth attempt and obtained 1126 marks in total with 950 in the written test, and 176 in the interview round.

2016: NANDINI KR

Hailing from Karnataka, Nandini graduated in civil engineering from the MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. Before clearing UPSC, she worked as an assistant engineer at the state public works department. Belonging to the OBC category, Nandini scored 1120 marks in UPSC 2016, with 927 in the written exam and 193 in the interview round.
