IAS Officers Remembering Their ‘Pehla Pehla Pyar’ In This Video

Indian Masterminds Stories

While growing up, we all have  our own interests. Some like to paint, some like to sing and dance, play sports or explore the world. However, in the challenges and situations thrown by life and while struggling between job & home, these hobbies that gave us happiness, are often forgotten. IAS officer Sheela Dahima doesn’t want anyone to forget their talent.  This is why, she along with 9 other IAS and SAS officers from Madhya Pradesh, has created a music video  ‘Pehla Pehla Pyar’  showcasing their talent. Ms. Dahima, presently Additional Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education,  (MPBSE) is herself fond of singing and poetry. She keeps making videos for her own YouTube channel and for the official channel of MPBSE. This time she had made a music video on the song rendition of ‘leke pehla pehla pyar’, recorded by her a year back. While speaking to Indian Masterminds she says, “Singing, dancing, poetry, painting, these all are passion of a person. We have depicted that love, passion and talent of our officers through this video.”

WHAT IS IN THE VIDEO

The video opens with Ms. Dahima writing letters to her friends who are civil servants, to ‘live their love’. Slowly the song unfolds and each officer is shown with their unique talent while dancing on the tunes of ‘Leke Phla Phla Pyar’. The song is a tribute to the officers who are efficient in not only their routine work but are passionate about art, music and travel.

“I have seen many women in my department and otherwise who are very talented but doen’t get the chance to show that. With the video we want to inspire them to live their love”, adds Ms. Dahima.

THE STARS

10 female officers from the state have been featured in the video. They include Varsha Solanki who is Add.Collector and a passionate dancer, Ms. Alka Shrivastava, Retd. IAS (a Fitness and Travel Enthusiast). Besides them the video also shows Sanghmitra Gautam, IAS (Cuisine Expert), Shuchismita Saxena, IAS (Paints Dreams On Canvas), Sarita Bala Om, IAS (Globe  Trotter, Explorer Inquisitive), Anjali Joseph,IAS (Dancer by Heart), Meenakshi Singh,IAS (Avid Reader and Nature Lover ), Disha Nagvanshi, IAS (Creates Magic with Words), Manju Khatri,  Add.S.P.(Music Lover ) and Ms. Dahima.

Ms. Bala Om who is Deputy Secretary in Horticulture and Food processing can be seen as tourist & photographer in the video. While Ms. Nagvanshi can be seen writing poetry. She is serving in tribal affairs department.

STARTED AS A JOKE

It all started with a joke. While sharing the behind story Ms. Shuchismita Saxena told Indian Masterminds, “We all are friends and meet once a week over a tea. During one of the talks, Ms. Dahima mentioned about a new song that she has recorded and we casually said that don’t do alone this time. We also want to be in a video and all of us has a good laugh about it.” However, this stuck in Ms. Dahima’s mind and she wrote a message and shared the concept she had in mind. In the message, she asked for confirmations who wants to be in the video. Ms. Saxena missed the deadline yet she was included in the video. “We really had fun shooting and preparing for it. We would think on what to on which line. It was really difficult to decide which painting should I show in the video. All in all it was really fun & refreshing”, said Ms. Saxena.

THE CHALLENGE

All of them are officers and have never made such a video before.  So, to make them comfortable, they are mostly shown doing activities rather than dancing. Also, the song is a dance number and using this theme was not a challenge. Ms. Dahima said that they only focused on the pehla-pehla pyar tune and everything followed.
