A 2009 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, Mr. Venkatesapathy S, has been named as Director in the Ministry of Port, Shipping and Waterways under the Government of India. He was earlier serving as Managing Director of Kerala Water Authority.
According to an official order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Central Government approved the proposal for the appointment of Venkatesapathy on Tuesday.
The order stated that he has been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
“He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Port, Shipping and Waterways,” the order further read.
