KK Pathak, a senior IAS officer who returned to Bihar from central deputation, has been made Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Registration, Excise and Prohibition. The General Administration Department issued a notification. KK Pathak, who returned from central deputation, was waiting for posting. Apart from giving the responsibility to Pathak, Additional Chief Secretary Chaitanya Prasad, who is looking after the additional charge of Registration, Excise and Prohibition, has been relieved from this department.
It is noteworthy that KK Pathak was the Principal Secretary of the Excise Department at the time of implementation of prohibition in Bihar. He was instrumental in the successful implementation of prohibition in Bihar. In view of his contribution, the government has once again given him the responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary in the same department.
KK Pathak is a 1990 batch IAS officer. He hails from UP but was on deputation to Delhi when the Grand Alliance government came to power in 2015. At that time he was brought back to Bihar. Now once again CM Nitish Kumar has reposed faith in his old officer and has entrusted him with the command to make liquor prohibition successful in the state.
When Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Chief Minister of Bihar, KK Pathak was posted as DM in his home district Gopalganj.
