NCL Signs MoU to Build ₹13.29 Crore Sports Complex in Singrauli Under CSR Initiative

Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a flagship subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Administration of Singrauli to develop a modern sports complex (sports academy) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

MoU Signed in Presence of Senior Officials

The agreement was signed on Wednesday by Rajeev Ranjan, General Manager (CSR), NCL, and Sher Singh Kalesh, Executive Engineer (MP Housing and Infrastructure Development). The signing ceremony was held in the presence of District Collector Gaurav Benal and CEO Jagdish Gome, along with other senior officials.

₹13.29 Crore Investment for Sports Infrastructure

Under the MoU, NCL will provide financial support of ₹13.29 crore for the development, operation, and maintenance of the sports complex over a period of two years.

This initiative aims to significantly strengthen sports infrastructure in Singrauli and create opportunities for young athletes in the region.

World-Class Sports Facilities for Youth

The proposed sports academy will feature a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities, including:

  • Swimming pool
  • Basketball court
  • Lawn tennis court
  • Table tennis hall
  • Badminton court
  • Cricket net practice pitch

In addition, the academy will offer professional coaching by qualified trainers, helping local youth develop their skills and compete at higher levels.

Boost to Local Talent and Sporting Culture

This CSR initiative is expected to promote sports culture, improve physical fitness, and identify hidden talent in the region. By providing structured training aligned with international standards, the project aims to groom aspiring athletes and open new avenues for their growth and success.

The sports complex is poised to play a transformative role in Singrauli’s sporting ecosystem, empowering youth and encouraging participation in various disciplines.
