The Punjab Government on January 8th, 2022 transferred 7 IPS and 2 PPS officers along whom Ferozepur SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans was also included. Ferozepur city is under controversy over the alleged security breach of Prime Minister on 5th January 2022.
Narendra Bhargava has been posted as the new Ferozepur SSP.
In total, nine officers have been transferred in the PM security breach row. Several officers had additional charges which have now been removed since an officer cannot hold two posts in a state which is due for elections.
