On Wednesday, The Punjab government announced major reshuffle in the state. The government issued official order regarding the transfer of 50 police officers, out of which 36 are IPS officers. The official order states that Senior IPS officer Mr. Varinder Kumar has been transferred and posted as Director, Bureau of Investigation, Punjab, Chandigarh. Earlier he was posted as ADGP, Intelligence. Whereas Mr. Jatinder Kumar Jain has been appointed as ADGP Powercom, Patiala.
IPS officer Ms. Shashi Prabha Dwivedi has been transferred and posted as ADGP HRD, Punjab, and in addition, she will also hold the responsibility of Nodal officer, Punjab Police Election Cell. Whereas Mr. Arpit Shukla has been given the responsibility of ADGP Welfare, Punjab, Chandigarh. Earlier he was posted as Director, Bureau of Investigation, Punjab, Chandigarh. While Mr. A S Rai has been posted as ADGP Intelligence, Punjab. He will replace Mr. Varindar Kumar.
Order further states that Ms. V Neerja has been posted as ADGP NRI, Punjab. Whereas Mr. Rakesh Chandra has been assigned the responsibility as ADGP Policy and Rules, Punjab, Chandigarh. Mr. Mohnish Chawala has been transferred and posted as IGP Border Range, Amritsar. Earlier he was posted as IGP Excise and Taxation, Punjab and, in addition, IGP/STF, Punjab. Whereas incumbent officer Mr. SPS Parmar has been posted as IGP, Patiala Range. While Mr. Rakesh Agrawal has been posted as IG Counter Intelligence. The responsibility of IG Headquarters has been assigned to Mr. Kaustabh Sharma.
