Newly appointed DGPs of Tamil Nadu

The government of Tamil Nadu promoted three IPS officers providing them with the post of DGP.

In an official statement issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu on Thursday, three prominent IPS officers were promoted and appointed as Special Director General of Police (DGP) in various departments.

Mr. Rajesh Das, an IPS officer of the 1989 batch, is appointed as the Special Director General of Police (DGP), Law and Order. Currently, he holds the post of Additional DGP, Law and Order.

Mr. P Kandaswamy, another IPS officer from the 1989 batch, is offered the post of Special Director General of Police (DGP), Administration. At present, he is posted as the Additional DGP of Administration.

Md. Shakeel Akhtar, an IPS officer also from the batch of 1989, was promoted and appointed to the post of Special Director General of Police (DGP), Enforcement. At the moment, he is serving as the Additional DGP, Crime.
