West Bengal: 11 IAS and 9 IPS transferred within two days

The order for the transfer of IAS was passed on 2nd November while IPS officers were assigned with new roles on 3rd.

The state government of West Bengal ordered major reshuffling at administrative and policing level. 11 IAS and 9 IPS officers were transferred and given new postings in back to back two days. The order for the transfer of IAS was passed on Monday while IPS officers were assigned with new roles on Tuesday. 

According to the new orders Vivek Kumar will be the new Principal Secretary, Environment Department. The 1990 batch IAS will also have the additional charge of Chairman, West Bengal Valuation Board. Similarly, Dr. A Subbiah has been assigned with the charge of Principal Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department and the additional charges of Commissioner, Medinipore Division and Managing Director, West Bengal Essential Commodities Supply Corporation Limited (WBECSC). Mr. Subbiah is a 1992 batch IAS. 

Along with them a 1998 batch IAS Vandana Yadav has been posted as Secretary, Industry, Commerce and Enterprises Department. She will also have the additional charges of Secretary, PE and IR Department and Managing Director, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (WBIDC). 

Pritha Sarkar will be in charge of Commissioner, Presidency Division while, Vijay Bharti will assume the charge of District Magistrate, Birbhum. Four other officers were also made District Magistrate 

Moumita Godara Basu, Sumit Gupta, Shashank Sethi and Vibhu Goel will be the DM of Jalpaiguri, North 24 Parganas, Darjeeling and Purba Medinipur respectively. 

Ponnambalam S have been made Joint Secretary, L & LR and PR & R Department while Abhishek Kumar Tiwari  has been given the charge of  Joint Secretary, Higher Education Department.

9 IPS also transferred

IPS officer Anamitra Das was posted as the new CO, of SAP, the notification said. Previously, he was the deputy commissioner, West Zone of Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate. Pushpa who was handling the charge of deputy commissioner (Traffic) in  Asansol- Durgapur Police Commissionerate has been appointed as the DC, Traffic, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate. According to the orders, Indira Mukherjee will be  DC, Traffic, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate while Biswajit Mahato has been given the charge of DC, West Zone, Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate.
