In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Bihar government has assigned new responsibilities to ten IPS officers, reflecting strategic adjustments aimed at enhancing operational efficiency in various departments of the police force.
DG Jitendra Kumar Gets Additional Charge of Bihar Special Armed Police
Mr. Jitendra Kumar (1993-batch IPS officer), who currently heads the Central Selection Board for constable recruitment and was recently promoted to the rank of Director General (DG), has now been given the additional charge of Director General of the Bihar Special Armed Police (B-SAP).
Key Changes in Senior Ranks
As per the notification issued by the Home Department, Ms. Anusuiya Ransingh Sahu (2006-batch IPS officer), who was serving as IG (Civil Security), has been reassigned as IG (Training). Mr. Pankaj Kumar Raj (2006-batch IPS officer), who was recently promoted, will now take charge as IG (Civil Security).
Mr. Rajiv Mishra (2010-batch IPS officer), who previously held the additional charge of DIG (Prohibition), has now been relieved from that post and entrusted with the additional responsibility of DIG (Railway).
Shuffles in SP and Commandant Posts
Mr. Mithilesh Kumar, an SP-rank officer who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as SP of the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS – Dial 112). Mr. Kantesh Kumar Mishra (2015-batch IPS officer) has been given the charge of SP, CID (Economic Offences).
Mr. Vidya Sagar, who was the SP of ERSS, has been posted as Commandant, B-SAP 8, Begusarai. In turn, Mr. Manoj Kumar, the former Commandant of B-SAP 8, has been made SP, Surveillance Investigation Bureau.
Additional Charges Reassigned
Mr. Rashid Zaman (2010-batch IPS officer), DIG (Administration), Bihar, has been given the additional responsibility of DIG (Prohibition). Mr. Ashish Bharti, DIG of Begusarai Range, has been assigned the additional charge of DIG, B-SAP (Northern Circle), Muzaffarpur.
Meanwhile, the additional charge of SP (Economic Offences) in CID, held by Bihar Police Service officer Ms. Mamta Kalyani, has been withdrawn.
This reshuffle is part of the state government’s continued efforts to streamline law enforcement functions and optimize leadership distribution across Bihar Police’s operational verticals.
