Along with various measures announced for Unlock 4.0 in the country, as many as 100 special trains will soon be running on the tracks. These trains, according to the Indian Railways officials, will run both inter-state and intra-state, and would specially help the people who want to move to their work stations from distant places.
In Delhi, Metro Trains- the lifeline of National Capital Region (NCR)- will resume operations from September 7, albeit with a few checks and conditions to keep the dreaded coronavirus at bay.
At present, 230 express trains including 30 Rajdhani Express trains are in operation.
The final nod for running the special trains, however, has to come from the Union Home Ministry. With the announcement of Unlock 4.0 and consequent reopening of economic activities in phased manner, there are chances of more work-force moving from one part of the country to another. These special trains will also fulfill the travel requirements of these people, who are now immobilized in their homes, villages and cities.
