Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami has confirmed that the Uttarakhand government is fully prepared for the upcoming monsoon session of the state assembly. The session will be held in Bhararisain, Gairsain, the summer capital of the state, beginning on August 19. Mr. Dhami emphasized that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth proceedings.

High Participation Expected from Legislators

According to official sources, 547 questions have already been received from 32 MLAs ahead of the session. This reflects strong legislative engagement and indicates that a wide range of public policy and developmental matters are expected to be discussed.

Speaker Reviews Arrangements for Session

The Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha chaired a high-level meeting with officials from multiple departments to review preparations. During the meeting, key decisions were taken to ensure the smooth conduct of proceedings. Strict instructions were issued to police officers to maintain tight security in and around the assembly premises. No lapses will be tolerated in entry and movement during the session.

Digital Governance through NeVA Platform

The assembly proceedings will be conducted through NeVA (National Electoral Web Application), promoting paperless and transparent functioning. To support this initiative, the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) has been directed to ensure uninterrupted digital infrastructure. Telecom companies will provide high-speed internet connectivity, and Wi-Fi facilities will be extended across the entire assembly premises.

Security and Entry Regulations Strengthened

For security and discipline, only limited entry will be permitted. Vehicles of assembly employees will require prior clearance, and entry passes for visitors will be restricted. Each minister will be allowed to recommend entry for only two visitors, while each MLA will have the same provision. These steps are intended to streamline security and avoid overcrowding.

Ensuring Essential Services During Session

The Speaker also instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted health services, electricity, and water supply during the session. Departments concerned have been directed to remain on standby throughout the proceedings, reflecting the government’s focus on administrative efficiency and preparedness.

Emphasis on Transparency and Developmental Governance

The monsoon session in Bhararisain is expected to highlight issues of governance, policy execution, and regional development. By adopting NeVA, the state is reinforcing its commitment towards digital governance and accountability. The large number of questions submitted by MLAs also signals strong democratic participation in policy discourse.
