New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of 19 senior officers for holding Joint Secretary or equivalent positions in the Government of India. The list comprises officers from diverse services including the Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Forest Service (IFS), Central Secretariat Service (CSS), and Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE).
The decision, announced on Tuesday, reflects the government’s continued focus on strengthening its senior administrative cadre with experienced and capable officers from across the country.
Empanelled IPS Officers
A total of 13 officers from the Indian Police Service have been empanelled. These officers are drawn from multiple state cadres and service years-

- Harinarayanachari Mishra (2003 batch, Madhya Pradesh)
- Nikhil Kumar Kanodia (2003 batch, Odisha)

- Anish Prasad (2003 batch, Tripura)
- Gagandeep Gambhir (2004 batch, Gujarat)
- Satender Kumar Gupta (2004 batch, Haryana)
- Anup Kuruvilla John (2004 batch, Kerala)
- Nitinjeet Singh (2004 batch, Odisha)
- Ruchika Rishi (2004 batch, Sikkim)
- Asra Garg (2004 batch, Tamil Nadu)
- Mitesh Jain (2004 batch, West Bengal)
IAS and IFoS Officers Empanelled
From the Indian Administrative Service, Antara Acharya (2006 batch, West Bengal cadre) has been cleared for Joint Secretary-level positions.
The Indian Forest Service has two officers on the list-

From the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), Mohammad Isharar Ali (2001 batch) has also been empanelled.
Path to Key Roles in Policy and Governance
With this empanelment, these officers are now eligible for appointment as Joint Secretaries or equivalent roles in key ministries and departments of the central government. Such positions are critical in shaping and implementing national policy and overseeing major administrative functions.
