The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has promoted 14 IRS officers to higher positions, including Principal Director General, Chief Commissioner, and Principal Commissioner, against the panel year 2025.

The promoted officers are as follows:
- Mr. Raj Kumar (IRS C&IT: 1990) and Mr. Valte Vungzamuan (IRS C&IT: 1990) have been elevated to the posts of Principal Chief Commissioner / Principal Director General, Customs & Indirect Taxes at Level 17 of the Pay Matrix (Apex Scale).
- Mr. Amitabh Kumar (IRS C&IT: 1992), Mr. Anuj Gogia (IRS C&IT: 1992), Mr. Sunil Jain (IRS C&IT: 1992), and Mr. Shaik Khader Rahman (IRS C&IT: 1992) have been promoted to the rank of Chief Commissioner, Customs & Indirect Taxes in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG) on a regular basis.
- Ms. Kajal Singh (IRS C&IT: 1992) and Mr. Pradeep Saxena (IRS C&IT: 1992) have been promoted to the rank of Chief Commissioner, Customs & Indirect Taxes in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG) on an ad-hoc basis.
- Mr. Utkaarsh R Tiwaari (IRS C&IT: 1995), Mr. Sanjay Bansal (IRS C&IT: 1995), and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Mishra (IRS C&IT: 1995) have been promoted to the rank of Principal Commissioner, Customs & Indirect Taxes in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix (HAG) on a regular basis.
- Mr. Yashodhan Arvind Wanage (IRS C&IT: 1995), Mr. M G Thamizh Valavan (IRS C&IT: 1995), and Mr. Gyan Sarvar (IRS C&IT: 1995) have been promoted to the rank of Principal Commissioner, Customs & Indirect Taxes in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix (HAG) on an ad-hoc basis.
These promotions mark a significant step in strengthening the leadership within CBIC.
