Chandigarh: The Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government has issued orders for the transfer and posting of two IAS officers and one PCS officer, effective immediately. Notably, this is the first time that the state government has issued these orders in Punjabi/Gurmukhi, marking a significant step toward promoting the use of the regional language in official matters.

Parminderpal Singh, an IAS officer of the 2016 batch, who was previously serving as Commissioner of Municipal Corporation SAS Nagar and holding additional charge as Managing Director of Punjab Communications Ltd, has now been appointed as Special Secretary of the Local Bodies Department. He will also continue to hold the additional charge of Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, SAS Nagar, and MD of Punjab Communications Ltd.

Meanwhile, Rahul Chaba, an IAS officer of the 2017 batch, who was serving as Additional CEO of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion and MD of Punjab INFOTECH, has been transferred to the role of Additional CEO of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, relieving Sandeep Hans (IAS) of the additional charge. He has also been entrusted with the additional charge of MD of Punjab INFOTECH.

Apart from this, Punjab Government has also ordered the transfer and posting of two PPS officers with immediate effect. Gurmeet Singh, PPS, previously serving as SSP, Jalandhar Rural, has been transferred to the position of Zonal AIG CID, Patiala, replacing Harvinder Singh Virk.
