The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has extended the deputation of three IAS officers serving as Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in Jammu and Kashmir for one more year following a request from the J&K Government.

According to sources, the extension has been granted to Mr. Athar Aamir Khan, Mr. Basharat Qayoom, and Mr. Akshay Labroo.
- Mr. Athar Aamir Khan, a 2016 batch IAS officer, has been serving as Deputy Commissioner Kulgam since January 4, 2024.
- Mr. Akshay Labroo, a 2018 batch IAS officer, has held the position of Deputy Commissioner Budgam since April 29, 2023.
- Mr. Basharat Qayoom (IAS) is currently serving as Deputy Commissioner Pulwama.
The deputation extension ensures administrative stability in these key districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
