Mumbai: In one of the biggest administrative reshuffles in recent times, the Maharashtra Home Department has transferred 132 senior police officials, including 51 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 81 State Police Service officers. The large-scale movement of personnel impacts several major urban centers such as Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, indicating a strategic reorganization of law enforcement leadership across the state.
Key IPS Appointments and Transfers
2012 batch IPS officer Tejaswi Satpute, who served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) at Pune’s Weapon Inspection Branch, has been appointed Commander of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group 1 in Pune.
2013 batch IPS officer Mahendra Pandit, DCP and formerly posted in Thane city, will now take charge in Mumbai.
DCP Smartana Patil, earlier with Pune Police, has been transferred to the Police Training Center in Khandala.
DCP (Traffic) Amol Zende, from Pune, has been appointed Commander of SRPF, Daund.
Tushar Patil, currently SP of Kolhapur, has been promoted and appointed as DCP in Mumbai.
In addition to Patil, Vijay Pawar, Sunil Lokhande, Namrata Patil, and Smita Patil have also been promoted or posted as Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) in Mumbai.
An official confirmed that five IPS officers have been promoted and moved to Mumbai as DCPs, including Vijay Pawar, Sunil Lokhande, Namrata Patil, Smita Patil, and Tushar Patil (formerly SP, Kolhapur), signaling a strengthening of the city’s police leadership.
