In a significant development, the Chhattisgarh Police Department has witnessed a large-scale promotion of officers following a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). The Home (Police) Department has issued orders promoting a total of 59 officers across various cadres to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and equivalent positions.
A total of 46 Inspectors, including those from the 1998, 1999, and 2000 batches, have been elevated to the rank of DSP. This comes despite the availability of only 17 sanctioned posts, as the government considered the long-pending demand raised by officers who had received only one promotion in the last 25 years.
Among the promoted Inspectors are Mr. Suresh Kumar Bhagat, Mr. Om Prakash Kujur, Mr. Tul Singh Pattavi, Mr. Noharial Mandavi, Mr. Yashkaran Dweep Dhruv, Ms. Shashikala (Markam) Uike, Mr. Sushil Malik, Mr. Kamleshwar Kumar Bhagat, and several others, including women officers like Ms. Reena Neelam Kujur, Ms. Swati Mishra, Ms. Kumari Chandrakar, Ms. Asha (Lakra) Tirkey, Ms. Mamta Sharma (Ali), and Ms. Bharati Markam (Shorey), reflecting a diverse representation.
Apart from these, 7 support staff have also been promoted. These include Mr. Rustom Sarang, Mr. Naresh Kumar Nehru, Mr. Telesphore Minz, Mr. Yad Ram Baghel, Mr. Vikas Kujur, Mr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, and Mr. Neelak Kishore Awasthi.
Promotions have also been made in specialized cadres:

- Ms. Seema Ahirwar (Bhaskar) was promoted to DSP (Reserved).
- Mr. Anil Kumar Kashyap was elevated to DSP (Special Branch).

This large-scale promotion exercise reflects the Chhattisgarh government’s recognition of long-standing service and aims to boost morale across the police force.
