New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has appointed Ms. Nivedita Dubey as Member (Human Resources), marking a historic milestone as she becomes the first woman to serve on the AAI Board in this capacity. With over 30 years of experience in airport operations and human resource management, Ms. Dubey is set to lead key initiatives in workforce modernization, personnel policy, and leadership development, aligned with AAI Vision 2047.
Historic Appointment: A Step Towards Inclusive Leadership
Ms. Dubey’s appointment is widely regarded as a significant step towards inclusive leadership and gender diversity at the highest levels of public sector governance. Her leadership reinforces AAI’s commitment to strengthening institutional excellence while promoting equal representation in top decision-making roles.
Prior to this role, Ms. Dubey served as Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region), Kolkata, overseeing 12 airports and pioneering several modernization projects, including the commissioning of new terminal buildings at Patna and Purnea airports, enhancing regional connectivity and passenger infrastructure.

Over Three Decades of Experience in Aviation
Ms. Dubey began her career with AAI in 1995 as an Airport Manager at IGI Airport, New Delhi, managing critical terminal and airside operations. She has built a distinguished career in:
- Airport Operations and Economic Regulation
- Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations
- Staff Welfare, Training & Development
Renowned for her expertise in industrial relations, she has successfully managed complex labor matters with zero work-hour loss and strengthened employee welfare and social security frameworks. She is also an ICAO-accredited International Airport Professional and a certified trainer, having contributed as faculty at the Indian Aviation Academy.

As Member (HR), Ms. Dubey will lead strategic initiatives including:
- Formulating and implementing personnel and industrial relations policies
- Driving workforce modernization and leadership development programs
- Aligning human capital development with AAI Vision 2047
