New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday approved a one-year extension in the central deputation tenure of two officers currently serving in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Extension for Reshma Reghunathan Nair
Reshma Reghunathan Nair (IRS-IT:2011), who serves as Director in the PMO, has had her deputation extended for one year beyond January 19, 2026, up to January 19, 2027. Nair has been serving in the PMO since November 2023. Her overall central deputation tenure, which began on January 19, 2022, was originally scheduled to conclude on January 19, 2026.
Extension for Dr Vipin Kumar
Similarly, the ACC approved a one-year extension for Dr Vipin Kumar (IFS:2013), who serves as Deputy Secretary in the PMO. His tenure has been extended beyond January 4, 2026, up to January 4, 2027. Dr Kumar has been posted in the PMO since January 4, 2023, and his three-year deputation tenure was due to end on January 4, 2026.
Significance of the Extensions
The extensions ensure continuity in key positions within the PMO, enabling both officers to continue contributing to the ongoing administrative and policy functions. Such extensions are commonly granted for officers performing critical responsibilities at the central level.
