IFFCO Records ₹4,106 Crore Pre-Tax Profit in FY 2025–26, Boosted by Nano-Fertilizer Innovation

Indian Farmers Benefit as IFFCO Records Historic Profits and Expands Nano-Fertilizer Reach
Indian Masterminds Stories

New Delhi: IFFCO has achieved a historic milestone in the financial year 2025–26, recording an all-time high pre-tax profit of ₹4,106 crore, marking a landmark in the Indian cooperative movement.

IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani emphasized that this achievement reflects the combined efforts of farmers, employees, and the enduring cooperative ethos that has guided the organization since its inception in 1967 with just 57 societies. Today, IFFCO represents over 36,000 cooperative societies and millions of farmers, making it the second-largest cooperative institution in the world.

Record Production and Sales

IFFCO’s growth in FY 2025–26 was supported by unprecedented production and sales figures:

  • Fertilizer sales reached 118.75 lakh metric tonnes, with a nationwide supply of 119.68 lakh metric tonnes.
  • Rising sales of urea and DAP further strengthened IFFCO’s role in supporting Indian agriculture.

The surge in nano-fertilizer sales was particularly noteworthy, exceeding 30.1 lakh bottles. Products like Nano Urea Plus, Nano DAP, Nano Zinc, Nano Copper, and ‘Dharamrut’ are recognized for being eco-friendly, cost-efficient, and highly effective alternatives for modern farming.

Global First: Nano NPK Innovations

IFFCO introduced Nano NPK Liquid (8-8-10) and Nano NPK Granular (20-10-10)—the first such products globally notified under the Fertilizer Control Order. These can be applied via foliar spraying or soil application, improving nutrient use efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.

To support production, IFFCO inaugurated its fourth nano-fertilizer plant in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, increasing total capacity to approximately 950,000 bottles per day. Additionally, the Nano Innovation Centre in Coimbatore is driving research and development to advance agricultural technology.

Employee Welfare Initiatives

Under Chairman Dileep Sanghani’s leadership, IFFCO has prioritized employee welfare by implementing a guaranteed minimum wage of ₹20,000 per month for contract employees, effective November 1, 2025. This initiative has benefitted thousands of employees and incurred an expenditure of approximately ₹140 crore.

Global Expansion and Strategic Partnerships

IFFCO’s presence now extends to over 40 countries, and plans are underway for a joint venture in Brazil to promote Indian nano-fertilizer technology internationally.

Chairman Sanghani emphasized, “Farmers’ prosperity forms the foundation of the nation’s prosperity.” Through timely supply chain management and alternative distribution strategies, IFFCO ensured uninterrupted fertilizer availability despite global challenges.

Vision for the Future

IFFCO continues to focus on nano technology, organic practices, and harmonizing fertilizers with modern agriculture, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’ (Developed India by 2047).

Chairman Sanghani expressed gratitude to key leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, J.P. Nadda, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as well as the IFFCO Board of Directors, Managing Director, officers, and employees for their dedicated efforts in realizing these milestones.
