In a significant boost to West Bengal’s developmental machinery, Ms. Aditi Choudhary, a 2014 batch IAS officer, has been appointed the new CEO of the Asansol Durgapur Development Authority. Her elevation is being viewed as a strategic move by the administration to strengthen governance and accelerate ongoing infrastructure and urban development initiatives. The state government, led by Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee, issued the fresh appointment orders as part of a broader administrative reshuffle designed to enhance efficiency across departments.
Ms. Aditi Choudhary’s New Leadership Role
Ms. Choudhary, known for her steady administrative approach and result-oriented work style, is expected to play a pivotal role in driving regional development projects in the Asansol–Durgapur belt—one of West Bengal’s most critical industrial and urban clusters. Her appointment also comes at a time when the state is focusing on tightening administrative coordination to improve service delivery and expedite developmental programmes.

Singh, a 2020 batch IAS officer, has been appointed Commissioner of the Asansol Municipal Corporation, replacing Ms. Choudhary.
