Bihar’s senior IPS officer Alok Raj has been assigned an additional role as Chairman of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (SSC), marking another milestone in his illustrious career. an IPS officer of 1989 batch Mr. Raj is currently serving as DG-cum-Chairman-cum-MD of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation (BPBCC), Raj’s new responsibility underscores his pivotal role in the state’s administrative framework.
This change comes shortly after Raj’s high-profile transfer from the position of State Police Chief to head BPBCC. His successor, Vinay Kumar of 1991 batch, now leads Bihar as the new Director General of Police.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Sohail of 2007 batch, Secretary of the Minorities Affairs Department, steps back from his additional charge as Chairman of Bihar SSC. Sohail, who has been balancing multiple key roles, will now focus on his responsibilities as Secretary of the General Administration Department.
This reshuffle reflects the Bihar government’s strategic reallocation of experienced leaders to drive efficiency and progress across critical state functions.
