Dehradun: Amit Shah, Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹1,129.91 crore in Uttarakhand. The announcement was made during a special programme marking four years of the government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
During the event, the Union Home Minister laid the foundation stone for 22 projects worth ₹1,014.81 crore and inaugurated 17 projects worth ₹115.10 crore, aimed at boosting infrastructure and development in the state.
Major Push for Infrastructure Development
Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah highlighted the significant increase in central government funding for Uttarakhand over the past decade. He stated that between 2004 and 2014, the state received around ₹54,000 crore from the Centre. However, since 2014, the funding has increased to ₹1.87 lakh crore, enabling rapid development across multiple sectors.
Shah also noted that several major infrastructure projects are currently underway, including the All Weather Road Project (Char Dham Road Project), the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor, railway expansions, and other connectivity initiatives aimed at improving transportation and boosting tourism in the hill state.

Rising Income and Economic Growth in Uttarakhand
The Union Minister also pointed to improvements in the state’s economic indicators. According to him:
- Per capita income in Uttarakhand has increased from ₹1.25 lakh in 2014 to ₹2.60 lakh today.
- The state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has grown from ₹1.5 lakh crore to ₹3.5 lakh crore during the same period.
These figures, he said, reflect the state’s steady progress in economic development and infrastructure expansion.
Appointment Letters Distributed to Uttarakhand Police Constables
During the programme, appointment letters were also handed over to around 1,900 newly recruited constables in the Uttarakhand Police.
Amit Shah praised the state government for ensuring transparent recruitment processes. He said the implementation of the Uttarakhand Anti-Copying Law under the leadership of Pushkar Singh Dhami has helped eliminate corruption and unfair practices in government job recruitment.
Citizenship Certificates Granted to Refugees
In another significant step, citizenship certificates were granted to 162 refugees who had migrated from Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Among those receiving the certificates were individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Shailesh, associated with the priestly family of the Hinglaj Mata Temple, Balochistan, and other refugees who had relocated to India after facing difficulties in their home countries.

e-Zero FIR System Launched to Combat Cyber Fraud
The Union Home Minister also launched the e‑Zero FIR System in Uttarakhand to strengthen the fight against cybercrime.
Introduced under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), the system allows victims of financial cyber fraud exceeding ₹1 lakh to quickly register complaints through the 1930 helpline or the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
All complaints will be registered as e-Zero FIRs at the state cyber police station in Dehradun and immediately forwarded to the relevant police station through the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS).
This process enables authorities to take swift action within the “golden hour,” collect evidence promptly, and freeze suspicious transactions to increase the chances of recovering defrauded money.
Boost to Governance and Public Safety
The event showcased the government’s focus on infrastructure development, transparent governance, employment opportunities, and improved cybercrime response systems. Officials said the initiatives will further strengthen public safety and accelerate economic growth in Uttarakhand.
