Anupam Anish Chauhan (ITS:2011), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the National Medical Commission (NMC) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has been re-designated as Director, as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on May 13, 2025.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the re-designation, which will take effect from the date Chauhan assumes charge and will remain valid until September 25, 2027.
Chauhan began his central deputation on September 26, 2022, initially serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). He was later posted to the NMC on March 1, 2024, in the same capacity.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) is a statutory body in India that regulates medical education, medical professionals, institutes, and research. Established on 25 September 2020, it replaced the Medical Council of India. The Commission grants recognition of medical qualifications, gives accreditation to medical schools, grants registration to medical practitioners, and monitors medical practice and assesses the medical infrastructure in India.
