Justice N. Harinath issued interim orders staying all proceedings against the officers. Advocate General Mr. Dammalapati Srinivas assured the court that no further summons or chargesheet would be issued during this period. The court has adjourned the matter to June 30.
The officers had filed separate petitions seeking dismissal of the case. During the hearing on Thursday, while the Advocate General requested additional time to file a counter-affidavit, the petitioners’ counsel, Mr. Vinod Kumar Desh Pandey, pointed out the police’s non-compliance with previous court directions. The court directed the police to file a counter before the next hearing.
In a separate matter, the AP High Court rejected a plea filed by Mr. Kesireddy Upendar Reddy seeking to nullify the remand of his son Mr. Raj Kasireddy in a liquor procurement case. A division bench comprising Justices R. Raghunandan Rao and K. Manmadha Rao upheld the orders of the ACB special court, stating that Mr. Raj must pursue legal remedies through appropriate channels.
