Karnataka’s Bandipur National Park, which is the second best managed tiger reserve in India, has now become number one in tiger, leopard and elephant population. This achievement would not have been possible without the hardworking and dedicated frontline staff. So, to honour their efforts, Bandipur celebrated the Frontline Staff Day on 20 September. The program was dedicated to the officers and staff involved in wildlife conservation.
It was organised in the Melukamahalli Safari campus and the frontline staff were treated with lunch which was followed by a safari. This is the first-of-its-kind program in the country. Field Director of Bandipur, Dr. Ramesh P said that it is important to recognise and honour the efforts of frontline workers as they sacrifice a lot to contribute in conservation. This program was just an effort to make them feel proud about working in Bandipur, he added.
