Bank of India Q1 FY27 Results: Net Profit Surges 36% to ₹3,068 Crore, Gross NPA Improves to 1.81%

New Delhi: Bank of India (BOI) delivered a strong financial performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), reporting a significant rise in profitability and improvement in asset quality.

The bank’s standalone net profit increased 36.23% year-on-year to ₹3,067.90 crore, compared with ₹2,252.12 crore in the same quarter last year.

On a consolidated basis, Bank of India reported a net profit of ₹3,302.58 crore during Q1 FY27.

The strong quarterly performance was supported by healthy income growth, improved asset quality, strong capital position, and growth across retail, agriculture, and MSME segments.

  • Total Income: ₹22,528.47 crore, compared with ₹20,518.29 crore in Q1 FY26.
  • Interest Earned: ₹19,949.32 crore, reflecting strong growth in core banking operations.
  • Operating Profit: ₹5,051.08 crore.
  • Net Profit: ₹3,067.90 crore, up 36.23% from ₹2,252.12 crore in the previous year.
  • Basic Earnings Per Share (EPS): ₹6.74.
  • Consolidated Net Profit: ₹3,302.58 crore.

Bank of India Strengthens Asset Quality with Lower NPAs

Bank of India continued to improve its asset quality during Q1 FY27, with a significant reduction in stressed assets.

Asset Quality Highlights:

  • Gross NPA Ratio: Improved to 1.81% from 2.92% a year ago.
  • Net NPA Ratio: Reduced to 0.51% from 0.75% in Q1 FY26.
  • Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR): Remained strong at 93.83%.

The improvement in asset quality highlights the bank’s continued focus on disciplined lending, recovery measures, and risk management.

Bank of India Balance Sheet Remains Strong

As of June 30, 2026, Bank of India maintained a strong balance sheet with healthy growth in assets and lending.

  • Total Assets: ₹11,93,200 crore (Standalone)
  • Advances: ₹7,87,340 crore
  • Deposits: ₹9,57,924 crore
  • Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR): 18.69%
  • CET-1 Ratio: 15.97%
  • Government Shareholding: 73.38%

The strong capital position provides the bank with additional capacity to support future business expansion.

Business Growth Driven by Retail, Agriculture and MSME Segments

Bank of India witnessed strong growth across key lending segments during the quarter.

Key Business Growth Highlights:

  • Global advances increased 18.64% year-on-year to ₹7,97,775 crore.
  • Retail advances grew 20.60% to ₹1,66,170 crore.
  • RAM (Retail, Agriculture and MSME) advances increased 19.75% to ₹3,92,833 crore.
  • RAM segments now account for 58.30% of gross domestic advances.
  • Total deposits increased 14.90% year-on-year to ₹9,57,924 crore.
  • Global business crossed ₹17.55 lakh crore, registering growth of 16.57%.

The growth reflects the bank’s focus on expanding retail lending, MSME financing, and priority sector credit.

Capital Position Strengthens as Bank Plans ₹7,500 Crore Fund Raise

Bank of India’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) improved to 18.69% in June 2026, compared with 17.39% in the previous year.

The bank’s CET-1 capital stood at 15.97%, indicating a strong capital base.

The Board has also approved plans to raise up to ₹7,500 crore during FY27 through:

  • Additional Tier-I Bonds: ₹2,500 crore
  • Tier-II Bonds: ₹5,000 crore

The proposed fund raising will further strengthen the bank’s capital position and support business growth.

Return Ratios and Operational Performance

Bank of India maintained stable profitability ratios during the quarter.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Return on Assets (RoA): 1.01%
  • Return on Equity (RoE): 16.12%

The bank continued to focus on improving operational efficiency, digital transformation, and sustainable growth.

Board Approves Q1 FY27 Results and Other Key Updates

The Bank of India Board approved the Q1 FY27 financial results on July 24, 2026.

  • Auditors issued an unmodified opinion on the financial results.
  • No deviation was reported in the utilization of funds raised through debt or equity issues.
